Thursday 2nd November 2017
Turner Prize nominees at the Ferens Art Gallery.
Join Sarah Brown, Principal Keeper at Leeds Art Gallery for an interesting afternoon in Hull, the 2017 UK City of Culture. We will meet at Hull Railway Station at 1.40pm and head off to the University of Hull Art Collection – a small but important collection specializing in paintings, sculpture, drawings and prints produced in Britain in 1890 to 1940.
We will then make our way to the Ferens Art Gallery which is hosting the 2017 Turner Prize exhibition where Sarah will introduce us to the four artists - two of which, Lubaina Himid and Rosalind Nashashibi, are represented in the Leeds collections and have taken part in the Northern Art Prize in the past. The other nominees are Hurvin Anderson and Andrea Büttner. We will finish around 5.00pm but Thursday is a late art night so you can take the opportunity to stay (or arrive in town early) and enjoy all Hull has to offer.
£15 includes entry fees, tours and transport in Hull. Does not include transport to and from Hull and refreshments.
