Thursday 19th October 2017
Presented in the evocative setting of the former Spode factory, where the smell of the clay slip still lingers in the air, the British Ceramics Biennial brings together the best and most innovative ceramic makers working in the UK as well as exhibiting a selection of work by recent graduates. There are opportunities to buy and a cafe in this vast, awesome space. On site is an engaging volunteer run museum showcasing the output of the Spode factory.
We will also visit the Potteries Museum and Art Gallery with its Designated Collections. Internationally known for its ceramics collections, it has in recent years won national media attention as the joint owner of the Staffordshire Hoard.
Please note that the Ceramics Biennial can be chilly so do dress warmly.
