Leeds Art Fund

Anthony Wells-Cole (Senior Curator Emeritus) and Barbara Walker have been cataloguing the Temple Newsam collection of wallpapers since 2008. The resulting publication is a fully illustrated catalogue of the 1,400 examples dating from the 17th century to the present day. It is one of the most significant collections in a public museum, complementing those at the V&A Museum and the Whitworth Art Gallery, Manchester. The lecture will give an overview of the collection and discuss some of the surprises and discoveries made during the course of the research.
