Bramham Park: House and Landscape

Our day begins with a guided tour of the House, built in 1698 and not usually open to the public. After a break for lunch (not included) we have a walking tour of the formal baroque 18th century water garden and follies followed by the more distant naturalistic landscape known as Black Fen.
Our guides will be: Susan Kellerman (Yorkshire Gardens Trust), Dr Patrick Eyres (editor and publisher, New Arcadian Journal), and James Lomax (Curator Emeritus, Temple Newsam House).
The day will obviously involve a lot of walking so sturdy shoes or walking boots are recommended. The principal floors of the House are accessible to wheelchair users as is the terrace close to the house but most of the landscape is only passable on foot, with uneven ground and some steep slopes.
£25, includes guided tours of the House and landscape but not transport or lunch. There is no cafe at Bramham but you are welcome to bring a picnic to enjoy in the grounds. Alternatively there are pubs in Bramham and Thorner which serve food at lunchtime.
