Join Sarah Brown, exhibitions curator at Leeds Art Gallery for an exciting day in London with a strong focus on sculpture. We start at Damien Hirst’s recently opened Newport Street Gallery in Vauxhall which presents exhibitions from his extensive art collection. We will view Jeff Koons: Now with work by Koons from the last 35 years and then walk to Tate Britain to see the exhibition of the four artists nominated for this year’s Turner Prize. In the mid-afternoon we will head off for Kings Cross by tube for a walking tour of this new and vibrant development which includes much public sculpture and interesting contemporary architecture. In Kings Cross we will visit the Pangolin Gallery which has a special exhibition of the work of Leeds artist Ralph Brown (1928-2013) the younger contemporary of the eminent group of Yorkshire sculptors that included Moore and Hepworth. The day ends with a glass of wine in a flat in one of the new apartment blocks in the Kings Cross development.

Meet at the Newport Street Gallery at 12.00 - directions will be supplied.

£28, includes entry fees and glass of wine. Does not include transport to, from and in London, or lunch.
