Tuesday 17th May 2016
In the morning we visit Coventry Cathedral for a guided tour which will focus on the 1960’s art and architecture of this magnificent building. Architect Sir Basil Spence commissioned work from Graham Sutherland, John Piper, Jacob Epstein, Elizabeth Frink and others.
After lunch we walk across to the Herbert Art Gallery to meet curator Martin Roberts. His tour will focus on key works in the collection, including Graham Sutherland’s studies for his Coventry Cathedral tapestry Christ in Glory.
There will be some free time to explore the gallery before we head off back to Leeds.
£49, includes coach transport, coffee, lunch, all admissions and tours.
