The Whitworth Art Gallery in Manchester will reopen in February, following a £15 million redevelopment project, with a major solo exhibition from one of Britain’s most acclaimed contemporary artists, Cornelia Parker. Amongst the wealth of other things to see will be the Whitworth’s eclectic and extensive collections of historic and contemporary art, textiles and wallpaper in their state-of-the-art, expanded gallery spaces; an Art Garden, designed by Chelsea Gold Medallist Sarah Price, and new displays of outdoor sculpture.
