Terry Frost, High Yellow. Bought by Leeds Art Collections Fund 1955
Terry Frost arrived in Leeds as the Gregory Fellow in Painting in 1954 and was to stay on, beyond his initial two-year stint, to teach at Leeds College of Art. Leeds and the Yorkshire landscape had a significant impact on the development of Frost’s art.
Nigel Walsh (curator Leeds Art Gallery) talks to collector Ronnie Duncan who knew Frost at the time and Layla Bloom, Curator, Audrey and Stanley Burton Gallery, University of Leeds, where the fellowships were based.
