Walter R Sickert, Juliet and the Nurse (c.1936)
Walter Sickert (1860-1942) was one of the most interesting - and influential - painters of the last century. A pupil of Whistler, a friend of Degas, the founder of the 'London Impressionists' and the 'Camden Town Group', he reinvigorated the figurative tradition in British art.
Matthew Sturgis, the author of an acclaimed biography of Sickert, will give a talk outlining his life and achievements.
