Jacob Kramer, The Talmudists, oil on canvas, c.1917
We have come to think of art as a way of talking about things in our world. That could be political events, social situations or even our personal feelings. In this talk writer, lecturer and curator Dr Michael Paraskos will use the work of Jacob Kramer, Stanley Spencer and others to present a radical new theory based on his study into Orthodox Christian icon painting, to suggest instead art is a window into another world.
To book for this talk please telephone 0113 247 8256, or send a cheque (payable to Leeds Art Fund) to Leeds Art Fund, Leeds Art Gallery, The Headrow, Leeds LS1 3AA
