This lecture looks at the circle of artists, architects and patrons that formed around the renowned and successful artists G. F. Watts, Frederic Leighton and their friend Valentine Prinsep in the years between 1850 and 1900. They posed ‘at home’ for society photographs in their studio-houses in Holland Park, and their ‘Show Sundays’ became part of the London Season.

Caroline Dakers is professor of cultural history at Central St. Martins, University of the Arts, London and author of the book ‘The Holland Park Circle: Artists and Victorian Society’.
