The Eightfold Dot is a silent film commissioned from the Dutch contemporary video and media artist Melvin Moti to celebrate the centenary of the first X-ray spectrometer built by Sir William Bragg at the University in 1913. It has been purchased jointly by Leeds Museums and Galleries and the University, partly funded by the LAF. The projection shows a turning and transforming crystalline form, and the work has been described as “meditative”.
