Belonging: Fashion & a Sense of Place

Thursday 3rd March 2022

Bankfield Museum, Halifax , 10:00 - 12:30

A curator-led exhibition tour examining the impact of West Yorkshire on a mix of fashion designers and creatives, inspired as much by the landscape and the textile industries as by the stimulating community spirit, wit and humour. The exhibition Belonging: Fashion and a Sense of Place features work by locally based designers as well as top international fashion names including Alexander McQueen, Burberry and Red or Dead.

This will be followed by a handling session with items from Bankfield's extensive textile archive, to give us a broader knowledge of the collections and an understanding of the range of skills which went into making costumes in earlier days.

We will meet at Bankfield Museum at 10.00am, with tea/coffee on arrival.

Parking at the Museum is free of charge.

Please note there is no cafe on site.
