The Shipley Art Gallery in Gateshead is home to one of the UK’s largest and most important collections of contemporary craft. We will have a curator-led tour of the permanent displays followed by time to explore.

After a break for lunch we will visit the Laing Gallery in Newcastle upon Tyne to see the Bomberg exhibition, with an introductory talk by curator Sarah Richardson. David Bomberg (1890 – 1957) is recognised as one of the 20th century’s leading British artists and of significant importance in the context of British modernism.
